WOMEN COMING TOGETHER IN FAITH, COMMUNITY AND FRIENDSHIP

Mission:

Encourages all women of the parish to participate in activities that bring women together in faith, community and friendship.

Who we are:

Father Jerry Rodenfels “resurrected” the Women’s Group in 1993 with a meeting calling for all interested women of the parish.  From that point we have been existence with a thriving group of women.
Our membership currently has 100 women.  We meet monthly, typically on the first Monday of the month at 7:00 pm, as well as other activities on other days and times of the month.  Membership is only $5, but if a topic interests you, please feel free to come and participate.

 January 6 - Meeting: Ring in the New Year with games, apps, and bubbly - CANCELLED due to weather

February 3 - Meeting: Kairos Ministry presentation from Donna Andriot

March 3 - Meeting: Lent Presentation – OLR Chapel – Habitat for Humanity presentation from Ellen  Milnes

April 7 - Meeting: Easter Craft

May 5 - Meeting: To be announced / location may be at park due to AP testing in Ministry Center

June 2 - Meeting: To be announced 

June 7 -  Event: Mother Daughter Brunch 11 am

July 7 - Meeting: Red, White & Bingo night – dessert – pie baking contest      

August 4 - Meeting: Annual ice cream social – book reviews from three or four volunteers.

September 8 - Meeting: Membership drive and potluck 

October 6 - Meeting: To be announced

November 1 -  Event: HollyDay Craft Bazaar - 9 to 3 pm  Ministry Center

November 3 - Meeting: Advent presentation and memorial – OLR Chapel       

December 6 - Event: Advent by Candlelight event with beginning at 7 pm

December 8 - Meeting: Christmas party & crazy gift exchange game

COTR Women’s Group shares their time and resources within the parish and surrounding communities in a variety of ways.

Contributing to the parish by donating to the following ministries:

• • Breakfast with Santa – Toy for each child
  • Card Ministry - Sympathy/Get Well Cards are mailed to Parishioners  
  • COTR Vacation Bible School - Lunches
  • COTR Social Concerns – School Supplies
  • Deserts for K of C Fish Fries, Parish Picnic, and Fall Fest 

• • St. James the Less Food Pantry – Food items and funds
  • Homes For Families Foundation
  • El Salvador Mission School  - Sponsorship of two children, which includes tuition, Bibles, school supplies, shoes and lunch with water for their school year. 
  • St. Francis Center (Vinton County) – Financial assistance for School Supplies
  • Word Among Us for Military
  • Life Care Alliance - Purchased and delivered 20 fans
  • Catholic Relief Services
