When Jesus saw the two disciples following him, he turned to them and said, “What are you looking for?” They said to him, “Rabbi, where are you staying?” and he said to them, “Come and see”, and they stayed with him that day (John 1:38-39).
You, too, are invited to “come and see” what we are like and what we believe in.
Christian Initiation of Children (CIC) is for families of children (grades 3-8) needing the sacraments of Reconciliation and First Eucharist. Children will also attend CREED for continuing grade level religious instruction.
Utilizing Pathways, a family-based program from Faith and Family Life Catholic Ministries, families will be invited to grow into a deeper understanding of our faith. Pathways is a hybrid program consisting of at-home lessons along with periodic parish-led activities (including Reconciliation and First Eucharist Retreats).
The program is divided into 3 sections: The first 6 weeks will focus on the Creed for children, teens, and parents, with age appropriate content for each. The 2nd section will help families prepare their child to receive the sacrament of Reconciliation in January. First Eucharist preparation will be done during the final section. Upon completion, children will celebrate their First Eucharist in the spring.
There will be an informational family gathering on Saturday, September 16th from 6:00-7:30pm. At this time we will go over the details of the Pathways program and give families everything they will need to begin preparation for their child to receive First Eucharist in April.
