Looking Through Windows of Grace
Ilona Frances Augustine Weise, of Westerville, Ohio, died February 11, 2021. She was born October 1,1943, the feast day of Teresa the Little Flower, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, the eldest of four daughters to Louis and Cecilia Augustine. As a young girl, she formed a close relationship with God which continued to blossom throughout her life. She attended The University of Bridgeport University earning her degree in Biology (medical technology). This was where she met her husband. They married on August 27, 1966 and were married for 54 years. She was the mother of six children and devoted her life to God and her family. She was an active member of The Church of the Resurrection, in the secular order of the Discalced Carmelites, and a Dame of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. Her passions were writing, poetry and prayer through which she inspired many. She was a true servant of God and always ministered to others through her writing, cooking and volunteering at palliative care.
She is survived by her loving husband, Dr. Kenneth B. Weise and her six children, David (Amber), Rebecca (Bruce) Siders, Sarah (Joe) Kim, Jonathan (Lauren), Benjamin (Angela), and Daniel (Allison). She leaves behind her three sisters, Susie (Bo) Denzel, Maureen (Emilio) Ramadanovic and Cece (Craig) Sheppard.
She was blessed to have 17 grandchildren, August, Alekzandar, Andrew, Autumn, Aaron, Katherine, Elizabeth, Anderson, Lauren, Nicolas, Vincent, Thomas, Oliver, Charlie, Anna, Dominic and Sophia.
She died at home surrounded by her family on the feast day of Our Lady of Lourdes.
