Church of the Resurrection Elementary Education Days, more commonly known as CREED, is our weekly faith formation program for public school children in grades PreK-5.
Registration for the 2023-2024 school year will begin August 1st. Classes will begin in mid-September and run through the end of April.
ELEMENTARY
Elementary school children, grades 1-4, are introduced to the basic teachings of the Catholic faith through weekly instruction using Disc over! Finding Faith in Life. Published by Saint Mary’s Press, this faith formation program puts The Catholic Children's Bible at the center. Founder Saint John Baptist de La Salle believed that God’s word is powerful in touching hearts. Discover enables children to connect the dots and transform a learned faith into a joyfully lived faith!
Grades PreK-4 are offered Monday 4:30-5:45, Monday 6:15-7:30, Tuesday 4:30-5:45, Wednesday 4:30-5:45 and Wednesday 6:15-7:30.
5th GRADE FAITH LAB is held on Sunday nights from 6:30-8:00pm. Through weekly instruction, 5th graders explore ways to live the Catholic Faith using Disc over! Finding Faith in Life (Saint Mary’s Press) in conjunction with the Catholic Children's Bible, Youtube videos and other on-line resources.
Making our chidren's religious education a success depends on our volunteers. Please consider sharing your time and talents. There are several ways that you can help.
LEAD CATECHIST
Lead Catechists are responsible for planning and executing these lessons each week in grades preK-5. Each grade level is supported by a “team leader” – an experienced Catechist that provides lesson plans and suggestions throughout the year. All supplies needed are provided. Adults and students in grades 9-12 are welcome to serve as Lead Catechists.
ASSISTANT CATECHIST
Assistant Catechists are responsible for aiding the leader as necessary. Duties include attendance, maintaining student’s take-home folders, bathroom duties, helping with set up and clean up, and assisting with proactive discipline as needed. Adults and students in grades 6-12 are welcome to serve as Assistant Catechists.
HALL MONITOR
Hall monitors are needed for each session to assist with drop-off and pick-up, restroom usage, field trips to the church, and ensure overall safety of students.
