The Season of Creation, September 1st through the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi on October 4th, is a period of prayer, reflection, hope, and action. Take this opportunity to recognize how our current lifestyle impacts our environment, affects others, God's creatures, and future generations. Spend some time educating yourself on our faith obligations. One way is to read Pope Francis encyclical, Laudato Si': On Care for Our Common Home. Consider adopting a sustainable lifestyle, praying for the most vulnerable suffering from climate conditions, and joining our Care for Creation Ministry.
4th Thursday of the Month starting at 7:00pm. Check Parish Calendar for location and confirmation.
Blessing of the Animals:
Bring your pet for a special blessing in celebration of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi and the conclusion of the Season of Creation, on Friday, October 4th. Deacons Carl Jerzyk and Kevin Murrin will be blessing pets on the lawn immediately south of the church entrance, commencing at 6:00 pm and concluding at 7:00 pm. A leash, cage or other control mechanism is highly recommended, as not all of God's creatures are at ease with others. Come and enjoy a salute to St. Francis and a blessing for your pet.
A donation of pet food is welcome, but not required. Donations will be given to an animal shelter.
Sustainable Shopping Presentation:
A sustainable shopping presentation will be held in the Ministry Center on Thursday, October 24th at 7:00 pm; followed by the regular monthly Care for Creation Ministry meeting.
