Dear Resurrection Family,
This year, on some Sundays of July and August, we heard the Gospel from the sixth chapter of John, also known as “the bread of life discourse”. At some point in the discourse we hear: “Many of His disciples returned to their former ways of life and no longer accompanied Him. Jesus then said to the Twelve, ‘do you also want to leave?’ Simon Peter answered Him, ‘Master, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.’”
These unfortunate, pandemic times have caused many of us to wonder how to make sense of all this – where is Our Lord in this mess gripping the world! Still, here at Resurrection, we are with Peter in his answer, above, to the Lord. We continue to seek Him and open ourselves to His saving grace.
In the midst of these difficult times we have continued to experience Our Lord’s love and life, especially through His Real Presence in the Holy Eucharist; through Baptism, Reconciliation, Confirmation and Holy Matrimony. We have even found creative new ways of education and formation of children, youth and adults.
Grateful in life, to love; to serve, our generosity has not waned. For example, we have assisted St. Vincent Family Center, Open Door, NC4K and the Brian Muha Foundation/Run The Race, to name some, plus the organizations we assist on a regular/monthly basis. Together, we have been good stewards of God’s gifts to us. I am even looking to see how we can assist other organizations and situations.
I invite you to prayerfully consider your financial gift to the parish. In your ever clear and present spirit of generosity, think of how you will renew and or increase your annual support to the parish. Thank you for your presence and generosity that has made it possible for us to be grateful in life, to love; to serve.
Please review the information on this page and plan your gift. If you have not returned a physical card, please complete a comittment card online.
Thank you for your generosity and commitment that leads to love and service.
Gratefully yours in Christ,
Fr. Denis S. Kigozi
